Database on Your Local Machine

Solo Consultants

Run the Immicase database directly on your own computer. All case data lives on your local hard drive, giving you full physical control over where it resides. This option is available exclusively for solo consultants who do not need team access.

Best for: Solo RCICs who work from a single device and want maximum data control.

Advantages

  • Complete physical control over your data
  • No recurring hosting costs
  • Data never touches an external server
  • Works offline with no internet dependency

Tradeoffs

  • No remote access -- you can only use Immicase from this machine
  • No team collaboration or multi-user access
  • Backup responsibility falls entirely on you
  • Risk of data loss from hardware failure, theft, or damage
  • No automatic updates to the database engine

Nightly Data Backups to Your Private Cloud

Flexible Backup

Immicase automatically creates encrypted backups of your case database every night and pushes them to a private cloud storage account you control -- such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Your primary database runs locally or on Immicase cloud, with the backup layer adding an extra safety net.

Best for: Practitioners who want automated offsite backups without managing server infrastructure.

Advantages

  • Automated nightly backups with no manual intervention
  • You control the backup destination (your own cloud storage account)
  • Encrypted backup files for security in transit and at rest

  • Backup frequency is nightly -- intraday changes are not backed up until the next cycle
  • Restoration requires manual steps to import the backup file
  • Cloud storage provider terms and data residency may vary

Plug In Your Own Database

Self-Hosted

If your firm already has database infrastructure, you can point Immicase at your own self-hosted PostgreSQL or Supabase instance. This gives you complete control over the database server, its location, and its configuration while still using the Immicase application layer.

Best for: Firms with existing IT infrastructure or strict internal hosting policies.
